This is the first time I've heard the notion of how practicing law is about serving lawyers before clients. Often times we are so driven by serving others that we attach our sense of worth and value to how much we can do for others, and we end up running on fumes. I chat with Amy Refeca, a wills and trusts lawyer in Atlanta, who talks about how being fit to practice is all about serving lawyers first, after experiencing her own burnout and postpartum depression while trying to prioritize everyone else. We talk about how we do this not by just pursuing happiness but by finding our own lane and staying on it, not measuring ourselves against everybody. Ultimately, the clients benefit. The exact steps are in this episode, and I am excited for you to join me in our conversation.
