In this first episode, we discuss the purpose of our podcast along with the audience we envision bringing in with our dialogues. We spend a few minutes discussing the media we took in that week, from Marvel’s Iron Fist to the popular anime My Hero Academia to the games we’re playing, including Overwatch and Player Unknown Battlegrounds. Our main focus is in discussing Naughty Dog’s 2013 game The Last of Us, a game known for its engaging narrative and focus on the interrelationships between Joel and Ellie as they survive in a ruthless, post-apocalyptic world. We elaborate on the structural and design decisions that make this narrative compelling and engaging for its audience, and we speculate on what other texts might have influenced it.

(Production notes: We forgot to use pop filters, they are present in every episode after this one. Gain levels are still being learned. First production, it's trial and error. Overall, it felt good for the first attempt. - Justin)
