Colligate Diver Allison Stefanelli comes back on the podcast and brings her friend Maddy Chao (also a colligate diver) as we talk about something that’s come to light during these Tokyo Olympic games where Simone Biles is experiencing the "twisties" and is unable to compete in her qualified events! Both Maddy and Allison have experienced the twisties in their careers and we really got to dive deep on what exactly the twisties are, what it feels like to have them and how they’re typically caused. Other topics discussed were;

  • Their diving routines that helped them perform at their best
  • Asian-American representation with Suni Lee winning the All-Around title
  • Why the twisties aren't talked about
  • What coaches can do better with moving forward
  • Thoughts on the pressure Americans have to win gold
  • The stigma of mental health and invisible injuries
  • What lessons they've learned through sports that they use in their everyday life
  • Advice for athletes who are dealing with their own mental battles
