Adam Robert Lewis sits down (virtually) with Welsh actress and singer Sophie Evans. Sophie was born in the Rhondda Valleys. From a young age and into her teens, Sophie was a member of the Mid-Rhondda Operatic Society. In her late teens Sophie auditioned for 'Over the Rainbow', a BBC talent show in search for a Dorothy for the London revival of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ at the London Palladium in which she earned a place in the Grand Final.
Sophie recently ‘returned to Oz’, playing Glinda in the smash hit musical ‘Wicked’ at the London Apollo Theatre.
Throughout her career Sophie has performed in venues around the world including the Lyric Theatre on Broadway, Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and has recently ventured into film work starring in ‘Pride’ alongside Bill Nighy and in ‘The World’s End’ with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
Sophie has also performed with the BBC National Orchestra as well as singing alongside Michael Ball and Only Boys Aloud.
