Ladies and gentleman, we are cleared for takeoff! Usually, we embark on a voyage across the seas, but today, we are soaring through the skies with Captain Whiskey and Captain R. Roberts.
Having just finished his book, I journey with Russ. Roberts through his life. Our first visit lands us in fatherhood and children. We get deep into the impact a father has on their children, especially their son. We get into the conversation of the idolization of our parents and then the declination of that idea as we grow up, in some cases. This guides us into the mentors and parental-figures we end up clinging to in life, and how that can affect us.
From there, we talk about life in general- specifically people giving up and life's timing. With this topic, we can't help but ponder "What-Ifs" and I ask Captain Roberts to help us fight them.
Then, it's family dynamics and religion before we get into Naval and Aviation discussions, he and I reminiscing our days across the seas and skies.
