Discipline is not motivation. Discipline is not willpower. Discipline is not about sacrifice or even punishment.

In my rants over the past few years (since our boys were born) about "Is raising children similar to getting real fitness?" This has led us to find some great books about the best practices for raising kids. The more we read these kinds of books the more we realize how parenting books apply just as much to adults in our field of exercise, nutrition, and accountability in regards to healthy living.

The newest lightbulb is about discipline (today's episode topic). We have uncovered the "Macros of Discipline". Just like nutrition has macronutrients for eating (Protein, Carbs, and Fat). Real discipline has macros as well...

Train Compliance = Habits

Teach Skills = Practice

Manage Choices = Right / Wrong
