What should consumers know about the affordable care act?

When creating a financial plan and thinking about how to protect yourself and your family from large catastrophic risk, concerns around health care are bound to come up. This is one of the most concerning issues to most people today.

As with anything else in order to prepare for any major financial exposure, the first step is to become aware, to become engaged and to actively participate. That is the purpose of today’s talk. You know medical expenses are more than just a family or individual concern. It is a national concern. The Congressional Budget Office recently projected that spending on the major health care programs would grow from more than 5% of GDP today to almost 10% by 2037 and continue to increase. Clearly this can’t go on, and it is hoped that the Affordable Care Act may help us solve our national and family problems, but will it?
