Blood Work: TTG is the abbreviation for tissue transglutaminase, an enzyme that is present in the intestines, as well as in other parts of the body. ... There are 2 main types of anti-TTG antibodies, or immunoglobulins, that can be measured when one is tested for celiac disease: TTG IgA and TTG IgG

Endoscopic Biopsy: The only true way to get a diagnosis

Carry the gene: HLA-DQ2 or HLA-DQ8 You have to carry one of these genes to have celiac disease. This does not necessarily mean that you have or will ever have celiac disease. It means that you have the ability and an increased risk of developing CD.
