The world of Mold and Mycotoxin Illness has been something our team has seen more and more of and we feel that the awareness and education around this topic is so essential for helping people understand all the facets of mycotoxin illness and how it can be impacting the human body.

Mycotoxins are great at creating systemic inflammatory reactions that gradually increase momentum and impact more systems of the human body and lead to more diverse and what may appear like unrelated symptoms.

Mycotoxins are the mold colonies defense to compete against surrounding threats and colonies and when we have exposure they impact our protein and gene expression as well as contribute to systemic inflammation in the form of increasing cytokines.

Approximately 25% of the population has a gene that makes them less efficient at attacking and having the proper immune response to mold and this can make them more vulnerable to becoming sick from mycotoxins.

There is also the potential of the sheer volume and duration of exposure being able to make an individual sick. Regardless, mycotoxin and mold illness is a real issue that requires a thorough team approach with providers well versed in integrative and functional medicine.

It is essential to map out a game plan to address all aspects of your health that become impacted as a result. From home and environmental clean up to addressing colonization in the sinus and gut, it is essential to address all contributing sources in the path to true healing.

Mitochondrial health, inflammation, hormone and endocrine disruption and neurological symptoms are all common areas that need to be looked at and addressed.

During this episode you learn a large and vast amount of information regarding everything mold and mycotoxin.

Please share and follow for more functional and integrative health relevant content.
