Today we're talking to Captain Jeff Keck, a North Texas police officer with about 25 years of experience. Jeff and I were talking recently about podcast topics that cops really need to hear and he said a phrase that caught my ear. He said, "from my own experience cops shouldn't always bottle things up." My response was, "oooh, that dog'll hunt!" Police officers are encouraged, both directly and indirectly, to bottle up their emotions, and that rarely turns out well.

Well, Jeff had some firsthand experience breaking through that barrier, which is especially difficult when you've spent a couple decades convincing yourself that you're "just fine."
