Host: Shell Pavlis

Guest: Jennifer Sandowsky

Jennifer Sandowsky literally wrote the book on exploring the role of unresolved emotions so that we can shine the light of forgiveness on ourselves to liberate us from the victim inside. In this candid interview, she highlights the importance of advocating for yourself, understanding all courses of available treatment, and using a tool like her Mental Health Life Report. Jennifer gives great advice on how to have an open dialogue with your health professionals and daily practices for your own empowerment to heal.

If you are in crisis or know someone who is...please call: Suicide Lifeline at 1-800- 273-8255 or text the word “help” to 741-741 http://afsp.org/get-help

Jennifer Sandowsky grew up in New Jersey with a mother, brother, and aunt who all had schizophrenia. An extremely chaotic upbringing, along with frequent disputes with her Father, was followed by the tragic deaths of her closest friend at the age of 14, "when she was hit by a car and dragged to her death in front of Jennifer," and the murder of her grandfather at the age of 16. She was also expelled from high school and placed in a facility for "emotionally troubled youngsters." Years later, her life improved, and Jennifer graduated from college with a B.A. in Psychology, then went on to have a long career in pharmaceutical sales, selling both antidepressants and antipsychotics. Through Forgiveness Jennifer and her father have established a very close and loving relationship.

Jennifer approaches mental health through "journeys" of oneself in ordinary life events that we can all connect to, yet in a casual and inviting manner. Unlike other systems that offer a more linear or scientific view, this approach helps to break down the “good, bad, and ugly” within us all.
