No one talks about the grief one experiences when losing a loved one to death row. Dr. Dan Newman does in his new book "Grief Behind Bars."
Not only are my guests brilliant and accessible to you, they think outside of the box when it comes to applying their knowledge to their professions.
"I was told I was crazy for holding and comforting a prostitute at 4am in an alley way after she had just tested positive for HIV, " he told me.

According to Dr. Newman, every patient comes with a different story and background and that should be taken into consideration when developing their treatment plan.
Dan has over 20 years of experience in public health. He was a Senior Health Educator for the Northern Kentucky Health Department. Involved with HIV/AIDS work since 1982, Dan served as an AIDS Prevention Specialist for AIDS Volunteers of Cincinnati. An ordained minister in the State of Ohio, Reverend Newman is a volunteer for the Women's Crisis Center of Northern Kentucky.
Certified as a "Trainer of Trainers" by the Ohio Department of Health in HIV, Substance Abuse, and Public Sex Environments, Dan serves as a faculty member of the Cincinnati STD/HIV Midwest Prevention Training Center as the North-Eastern Prevention Specialist. He holds National Institutes of Health (U.S. NIH) certification in Prevention Communication for Diverse Populations from the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA).
Dan holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Holistic Ministries and a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.) from the American Institute of Holistic Theology.
