Good relationships are the bedrock of a good life. So today I’m introducing a fundamental truth that will transform all of your relationships for the better: your thoughts – not the actions of others – are the foundations of all relationships. It is not what our friends, partners or kids say or do – but how we feel about what they say and do, that inform how harmonious or dissonant our relationships are. This is why it’s pointless trying to control others, and more fruitful to address our thoughts about them. I unpack this concept in depth and walk you through two tools to help you separate fact from story, objective reality from feelings. The second tool is a practical one that will help you rationally assess your judgements and reprocess them, so have a pen and paper handy!
