Today is all about nervousness. Nervousness is an inescapable part of life, dreaded by most and avoided by many. But avoiding situations that make us nervous is self-sabotage: nerves indicate risk, and growth is at the other side of risk. So at the very least, I’m going to help you make peace with nerves, and at best – I’m hoping to encourage you to move towards them and embrace them. Strap in as I walk you through the 3 steps to follow in order to understand, manage and appreciate your nervousness. The first step is to create space for them. The second step is to ground yourself in the feeling and knowing of safety, and the final step is to invite more nerves into your body as a teachable moment; to show yourself that you are ultimately in control of how much angst is and isn’t manufactured in your body. This all results in first-hand experience of how much control you have over your emotions, and with this knowledge, anything is possible!
