Manage episode 422080349 series 3550131
Contraceptive options for men are limited to condoms and coitus interruptus, which reduce pleasure, and vasectomy, which permanently sterilises the man. A non-hormonal inhibitor of a serine/threonine-protein kinase 33 (STK33) has just been shown to cause reversible male infertility without noticeable toxicity. At this stage it has only been tested in mice, but we may be looking at a future where men will simply need to take a pill to have full control over their conception.
