Inside Letting Go with Lottie Randomly
Manage episode 290468586 series 2846810
We can be active and productive and acquire and acquire but if we don’t let go, things get seriously toxic. On all levels. And it’s not something we’re very good at.
This is a soulful, sweet meandering conversation in which we cover all kinds of letting go. As well as death, there’s funerals, loss, hope, the menstrual cycle and what that teaches us about letting go, compost, menopause, grieving in covid times… all the best taboo topics.
Lottie wears loads of different hats, they're a celebrant, a creator of queer-centred cycle magic, an educator and facilitator, a coach and animist, a walker-between-worlds who’s also worked in mainstream mental health for a long time. I came across them on Instagram where you can find their heartfelt, thoughtful posts at @know.your.cycle
Together we explore:
- Lottie’s journey to becoming a celebrant
- The healing possibilities of funerals
- The ingredients for a really good funeral
- How funerals can connect us back to our communities and hope
- The connection between death and the menstrual cycle
- The potential of the menstrual cycle to practice letting go
- Rituals and practices that help with this
- The menstrual cycle as a magical framework for change
- Pondering menopause and how to throw a party to say goodbye to menstruation
- How to celebrate the life of a loved one while we’re in a pandemic
- The importance of giving permission to ourselves to feel grief and allow it in other
- Progressive ways of disposing
- Bokashi composting
- And how to grow the best courgettes
Though they really didn’t want to, I squeezed Lottie till they let out a fabulous top tip too.
