On today’s episode, I’m talking to sports medicine physician Dr. Poonam Thaker about directing your energy.
Poonam is the Sports Medicine Fellowship Director and Associate Family Medicine Residency Director at Ascension Resurrection in Chicago. She’s also an assistant professor at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Sciences. Poonam serves as a team physician for North Park University and several high schools in the area, as well as, in one of her dream roles, providing coverage for US Soccer all over the world. Poonam shares her journey of discovering the importance of directing your energy to what matters to you and caring about the things that care about you back.
We talk about:

  • Finding resilience when the next step doesn’t work out as planned
  • Getting your foot in the door in your preferred city or organization
  • Picking and choosing your battles to avoid burnout
