SELF CONTROL MEDITATION - MEDITATION SPACE - Joe-y Busuttil
To understand the link between meditation and self-control, we need to know how willpower works in the brain.
When we exercise any kind of self-control, we always use the same part of the brain. The area is called the ventrolateral prefrontal cortex of the right side.
Feelings are an important part of our lives, and we often pay more attention to them than to our thoughts. When someone dies, it's hard to understand, and we often lose ourselves in deep sadness as we imagine that we won't ever see the person again.
We know deep down that this is also our fate and that this is just the way life is. But sometimes grief gets the best of us, and people die from it if they were close to the person who died and can't let go.
The same is true for things like anger and worry.
When it comes to temper, we know that it can lead to regret and that things that make us anxious will be solved in the end, but we can't always control our feelings to make them match what we know.
Meditation is helpful in this situation because it helps us keep our feelings in check and puts our minds above our feelings. And this makes it easier to deal with sadness, worry, anger, and all the other emotions that make our lives hard.
People who meditate often are better able to keep themselves in check than people who don't.
Even though I don't have full self-control in all of these areas, I have a good handle on most of them. I was able to make these changes by meditating often, working hard every day, and being disciplined.
Meditation does help you a lot with self-control, but you also need to change a few things about yourself to make a complete change.
Meditation is a practise that can really make your life better. A practise that changes and improves your life in ways you might not expect.
So we need to do the right things and set up the right conditions if we’re going to change. Let your self relax and let go.
Enjoy this session.
