Who Murdered Hip Hop? Originally serving as an outlet for young urban brothers to express their social, economic, political, and personal concerns, Hip Hop took the 70's by storm. Before you knew it everyone was rapping, dancing, and throwing big parties. People came together to bond and battle instead of fuss and fight. Ushering a new age of young people breaking down barriers with sound instead of fists. But just like Black Wall Street, once Hip Hop became a positive force in the Melanated(Black) community, it instantly became the target of those who seem to enjoy our suffering. It became the objective mark for vultures and saboteurs. Those who desired to oppress and control instead of elevate and enlighten. Join Alex Primo, Asha Zuri, and Zhe Levels Scott Thursday, August 20 at 9 PM EST as we dissect the ups and downs of the music industry as it relates to the well-being of our Melanated Family. We will explore the philosophy behind this change from uplifting party jams and street poetry to violent chaotic "music" that promotes disunity. And as usual we will discuss current events or other issues that affect the Black Community. Plus Brother Dennis Jefferson will be dropping by with another fantastic episode of Healthy Matters. You can call in and speak with your Hosts at (917)889-2830 OR You can tune-in LIVE and listen here. And remember ... Keep it On point & Keep it Real. #One
