EP 17 Alcohol, Health, and the Holidays

Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year from the Old Bull Team
Preparing yourself for the holidays? Know your beverages. Lots of Christmas parties, dinners, drinks, and catch-ups not to mention Christmas dinner on Christmas day, and then New Year, and of course the whole of January to go.
Knowledge is power. Health.gov.au tells us what can happen as you consume more alcohol. Also, how many drinks are in a standard drink? How much consumption is responsible? How many standard drinks are there in a beer or a glass of wine? It's all here and important to know to help you if you are going to drink, and going to drink responsibly through the festive season.
Hear about research from the Lancet Journal, which said all alcohol is bad for you and then revised that later to say a little is OK. Find out why. Learn about the philosophical angle of why humans get drunk.
Always enjoy alcohol responsibly and if you are going to consume alcohol do so in moderation. If alcohol is a problem in your life please consider contacting one of the following services: ADIS, Drinkwise, or call ADIS on 1800 250 015.

Hosts

Jem Bolt and Donny Singe talk about the "big" issues, in their Short, Sharp, and Fit podcast. Sponsored by Old Bull health. (www.oldbullhealth.com)

Jem is the Founder of Old Bull Health, an Ironman, and worked in senior roles in corporate most of his life. Donny brings years of professional experience and anecdotes from 32 years of elite performance coaching and 20 years in the NRL with the Sea Eagles.
This combination brings an entertaining and at times challenging mix of laughs and facts that could make you more interesting at dinner, but hopefully and most importantly will leave you with some key takeaways to think about, and support your health and well-being journey, whatever that may be.
