As Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Stephen Hinshaw opens up in this episode with JK about his experience of growing up around mental illness and dedicating his life’s work to helping people and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health.


From a young age, his father would be gone for long periods of time and Stephen wouldn’t know where he was or why he was gone. He later found out that his father was severely bipolar.
