When you are hotlined, there are a lot of things you need to do and a lot of things you are going to be feeling as you try your best to protect your family. This video walks you through the definition of child abuse and neglect, what is likely to happen when you are hotlined, and what you can do for your child. I hope this video makes it easier for you to do the things you need to do to bring your child home and provide a safe environment for them. I know this time has been stressful for you, so please feel free to grab a bunch of markers and a coloring page or some crayons and join in as I talk about the child abuse and neglect hotline process. Out of My Mind creates tracks at the intersection of mental health and social justice. You can find more and Subscribe at https://soundcloud.com/odanu In each track Jennifer D. Liles, LCSW engages in creative work or play while teaching you some idea from mental health topics like relationships, parenting, or how politics and social justice interact with peoples' mental health. Tracks come out twice a week, generally on Wednesday and Saturday. For those looking for more interaction and personalized help, we offer more at the Out Of My Mind Patreon at https://patreon.com/jlles, including discussion of the videos and articles, the ability to suggest future videos, and small group and one-on-one skills building and life coaching.
