In this episode, we're joined by Rio Otoya. Rio is a Transformational Coach, Certified Yoga Teacher, and Healing Breathwork facilitator. He formerly worked at Google Launchpad leading startup programs and with their Mindfulness Initiative, gPause. He has experience as a visual artist, community builder and facilitator of creative collaborations. Rio uniquely combines his facilitator experience with modern-scientific and traditional-spiritual practices, to create a safe space for people to find inner balance.

Rio certified as a Yoga teacher in 2011 and progressed to advanced courses and Yoga therapy studies in India (2018-2019) where he completed over 1000 hours of formal training. He learned from Rishi Vishuas Malik at Yoga Vidya Gurukul (under the lineage of Swami Satyananda Sraswati), recently awarded by the Prime Minister of India for his achievements in Yoga.

Rio took a keen interest in the healing power of the breath through Yogic Pranayama (expansion vital energy through the breath) and went on to train as a Healing Breathwork facilitator with Erin Telford and David Elliot’s approach to the practice.

As part of his toolkit Rio is trained in Reiki (Japanese and Yogic) and Huna (Polinesian Healing practice)

In this episode, we explore:

  • an integrative way of working
  • healing breathwork
