Today's episode is a little different, because it's less of an interview and more of a conversation, per Kimberly's request. We had a LOT of fun digging into this topic, and hit on some pretty fascinating areas.

Kimberly Paige is a Master's level therapist and personal development coach. She has received in-depth training in systems like CBT, DBT, and the Enneagram, and holds certifications in both fitness and nutrition. Kimberly's passion for her work stems from her own continuing process of personal development. She feels a strong pull to share what she has learned with others and help them to create a life infused with meaning and purpose.

I reached out to Kimberly after she posted this quoteto Instagram: "Good girls don't grow into good women. They grow into resentful women."

There's a lot to unpack there, including how women and girls are socialized from a young age, with a very different set of expectations that the ones given to males. This can often lead to people pleasing and other issues that can manifest in various ways, including resentment, stress and anxiety.

Kimberly also re-frames self care as taking a break from being overly responsible, which I found to be incredibly refreshing.

Some other areas covered:

  • Taking responsibility for our own actions, balancing that against taking responsibility for others when it’s not ours to take on
  • Busting the lie of "fine" because it's okay to want more!
  • How the battle between inner good girl and bad girl (so-called) can completely shift your confidence in the best way
  • Learning to break the cycle of constant apologizing unnecessarily
  • Enneagram, CBT, and living up to your full potential

This episode was particularly fun, and Kimberly has so much to share! Can't wait for you to tune in ;)
