Let’s not kid ourselves… we need money to live! And, if there comes an unfortunate time that you have to find cash ASAP so you can put food on the table, know that there is always a solution.

Today in the Stress Serial Podcast, Chris helps you how to deal with your short-term cash problems. It’s absolutely stressful when we are in financial turmoil. So, if you finally acknowledged that you’re having a short-term cash problem, it’s time to get moving. Chris suggests different solutions – from selling unimportant stuff to looking for a job to borrowing money. It would be best if we do these things properly to not let it happen again, so tune in to know the best strategy for you!

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Acknowledge that you’re having a short-term cash problem. This is always the first step, and a step that you shouldn’t fail to do. Once you’ve done this and has already pinpointed the problem, it’s easier to find solutions.
  • When it comes to finding solutions, you have to set aside your ego. Clear your mind and learn how to be resourceful and creative.
  • Take note that there’s a high chance that you might do jobs that you don’t normally do since you’re having cash problems. You must be willing to get out of your comfort zone to survive.
  • Do I have anything that I can sell? Start scouring your wardrobe, your shelves, etc. for things that aren’t useful anymore and you’re willing to let go.
  • Look for odd jobs, freelance works, project-based commitments, etc. There are thousands of available job postings online. All you have to do is search for them.
  • Borrow money. Only do this if you’re confident that you can pay it back.
  • Friends and families are the easiest to approach when you need the cash but if you fail to pay your debt, you might risk the relationship.
  • Talk to your bank about an overdraft. Most banks don’t agree with small amounts. If this happens, you can consider lenders.

BEST MOMENTS

  • “If you do have short term crippling financial difficulties, then you have to accept this problem. You got to accept it as a challenge that you got to deal with.”
  • “Whatever you do, don’t hope for miracles to happen.”
  • “It’s better to survive and do a crappy job than to be at certain types of work and starve to death.”
  • “If you’ve got a good friend or in good terms with your family, you got to think really long and hard about borrowing money that you can’t pay back because it will probably bite you in the ass.”
  • “Ultimately, financial stress is one of the biggest challenges that we face as human beings.”
