On this day, 25 years ago, the Sega Dreamcast was launched in its home country of Japan - nearly an entire year before it released in the West. It was Sega's follow up to the much misunderstood Saturn, and sadly their last console before moving to being a third-party developer/publisher. In this podcast retrospective, Andrew, Brian, Mark and Mike cover everything to do with the Dreamcast's 28th of November '98 launch, and discuss what it was that made Sega's swansong console so darn special.
Featured audio/music:

  • Audio from the Sega New Challenge Conference, May 21st 1998, Tokyo
  • "Patty (Mothers)" from Psychic Force 2012
  • "Undersea Plant" from E.G.G.: Elemental Gimmick Gear
  • "Aquarium" from Sega Marine Fishing
  • "Opening" from Di Gi Charat Fantasy
  • "Day Dawns" from Phantasy Star Online
  • "Dream" from L.O.L.: Lack of Love
