In this episode Niyati Tamaskar shares her journey of leading from the front to #Breakthebias and cultural stigma associated with a cancer diagnosis in the black and brown communities. Niyati Tamaskar was diagnosed with cancer at age 34 while breastfeeding her second child. Through humor and education Niyati emphasizes the importance of being your biggest advocate if you were to find yourself in a similar situation. Most importantly she shares how one can thrive in their ‘onlyness’ while paying it forward for others in a journey of their own.

She is an advocate for women in technology and engineering, a mother, a public speaker, an author and an entrepreneur. Her TEDX talk 'Cultural bias and stigma associated with cancer' set the stage for her to empower women, especially women of color under the age of 40 who have been handed a cancer diagnosis to step in unafraid and unabashed. She is the author of two books, Unafraid and Unabashed. Unafraid was featured in Forbes magazine as one of the eight books that spark human connection in 2020.
