I have a highly fan requested episode this week on a very niche topic that I am excited to explore with you all! I am bringing on content creator and former sugar baby, Amina V, on the show this week to speak about her experience as a sex worker in Japan. Amina opens up the conversation with her story of how she got to Japan in the first place. She briefs us on what is known as being an "idol" in Japan - an interesting phenomena that is really prominent in Japanese, and even Korean culture. We then discuss her early entry into sex work as a minor and what she experienced as a sex work in Japan. The conversation was really eye opening, especially as myself and my listenership is predominantly North American based, so it was fascinating to hear about the scene in Japan. We briefly discuss eastern vs. western societal norms and cultures and how that might even find itself seeping into sex work over there.
