This month our resident Tiger Tamers, Ross Abbott & Ellice Whyte, are joined by the inspirational Brian Wood MC, Veteran, Owner of Keep Attacking & Sunday Times Best Selling Author.
Here is an introduction to our brilliant guest...
At the age of 23, Brian was thrust into the front line in Iraq, in the infamous Battle of Danny Boy. Ambushed, he led a charge across open ground with insurgents firing at just five soldiers.
On his return, he was awarded the Military Cross by Queen Elizabeth II.But Brian's story had only just begun. Struggling to re-integrate into family life, he suffered from PTSD. Then, five years later, a letter arrived: it summoned him to give evidence at the Al-Sweady Inquiry into allegations of war crimes by British soldiers during the Iraq invasion of 2003.
After years of public shame, Brian took the stand and delivered a powerful testimony, and following the tense inquiry room scenes, justice was finally served.Phil Shiner, the lawyer who made the false accusations, was struck off and stripped of an honorary doctorate.
Brian wrote his story Double Crossed: A Code of Honour, A Complete Betrayal - which became a Sunday Times Bestseller and it was commissioned for a BBC 90-minute dramatisation, Danny Boy.
In 2021 Brian ran 25 marathons in 25 days to remember the fallen from Iraq & Afghanistan raising £160,000 for Walking With The Wounded.
In 2022 Brian ran again for the fallen running 35 marathons in 35 days raising £80,000 for Charity.
In 2023 Brian took part in the toughest foot race in the world The Marathon Des Sables and raised £16,000 for Charity.
Brian has also formed his company “Keep Attacking” which is built around the idea of staying strong and resilient through any adversity.
