In today's episode I am joined by IFS therapist and author, Betsy Fenzel, as we discuss her new book, Heart of Gold.

Topics Covered in Episode:

1. Betsy's journey to IFS and its connection to Buddhist meditation

2. Betsy shares about her inspiration and mentor Tara Brach for her heart of gold

3. Heart of gold as the Self

4. Intention for the book and who Betsy wrote it for

5. You are good, and you have this essential goodness. The importance for kids (and parents) to hear and know this message.

6. The power of compassion towards others and seeing/knowing they too have a heart of gold

7. Meditations, worksheets, and exercises for heart of gold awareness and access

8. Betsy takes us through a guided meditation experience to connect with our heart of gold

Betsy Fenzel is a mom of three and has a private therapy practice in the Washington, DC, area. Her experience with Internal Family Systems therapy, Buddhist meditation, and mindfulness inspired her to write Heart of Gold and share its beneficial messages with the world. In her free time, she loves to read, travel with her family, sing in her car, and give her dog belly rubs. She hopes one day every child will know about their heart of gold so they can bring their special light to the world.
