Setting effective health and fitness goals can be a challenging task, especially when it comes to going beyond the surface level of SMART goals and aesthetics. While SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) are an excellent starting point, they are not enough to ensure that your goals are meaningful and motivating. Here are a few additional tips to help you set effective health and fitness goals that go deeper than just surface level thinking:

  2. Focus on internal motivation
  3. Reflect on your values
  4. Be realistic
  5. Celebrate your achievements
