Sometimes we need an editor.

But what if we could learn to edit ourselves? What if we had an internal “red button” that would BLEEP our thoughts when they’re harmful, shaming, negative, labeling, or otherwise unhelpful to us? What if we could learn to place a 5-second pause between a feeling and a thought or between a thought and a reaction?

We can! But it takes self-brain surgery.

This episode is about worldview, self-editing, and how to change your mind.

Substack recommendation: Joel Miller, Miller’s Book Review.

Book Mentioned:

Live No Lies by John Mark Comer

Scripture:

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Psalm 19:14 NIV

My new book is Hope is the First Dose: A Treatment Plan for Recovering from Trauma, Tragedy, and Other Massive Things (coming July 25).

Self-Brain Surgery is the path forward when life makes you feel hopeless. If you like this episode, you’ll love my weekly letter too. Please consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
