Hey there, Lorrie.

I am writing this letter to you first thing in the morning, setting our intention and tone for the day.

So as you read this at 8pm tonight, you can be proud of yourself for setting an intention and a plan for an awesome day, and you did it!

You gave your students great classes today, put together a yummy stew for a couple of days of leftovers. You enjoyed some outdoor time. Some puppy time. Got some end-of-the-year bookkeeping done.

So, as you put your head down on the pillow tonight (after your Epsom salts bath), you can rest knowing that all is taken care of. And you can let go for a blissful sleep.

And, truly, even if every single thing you planned did not get done, you did your best. And tomorrow is another day, my dear.

Enjoy your bath and your sleep.

Love,

Yourself

This is the letter I wrote myself just the other day as a way to let go of the day and settle in for a good night’s sleep.😴

This habit of writing your future self a letter is a new one I have started, and let me tell you that it has certainly changed my day (and my life) for the better!🤗

Today, on Episode #82 of the Habit Thrive Podcast, we are exploring how writing this letter✍️ to our future selves is easy, powerful and actually quite magical!✨

This habit fits perfectly in our month’s theme of “Resetting” by allowing us to take a moment to reflect on our day🤔, congratulate ourselves on what we accomplished🥳, and let go of things we have been dwelling on.😮‍💨

Whether you write this letter for the future you of next month, next season or just tonight, use it as a way to set your intentions for the coming days or weeks.

❓What do you want to do?

❓How do you want to feel?

❓Where do you want to be?

Habit stacking a visualization practice with writing your letter can help you tap into those feelings and desires you have for yourself and - more importantly - see yourself achieving them.😉

So write a letter, jot down a note, record a message … then set it up to deliver or place it where you will rediscover it tonight.

Your future self will thank you!🙏
