What have you done for your heart❤️ lately?

Many of you may answer with things like:

  • Changed my diet🥙
  • Started walking/running/skiing regularly🏃‍♀️
  • Went to or scheduled an appointment with my doctor for a workup👩‍⚕️

And bravo🥳 for that!

These are all wonderful, healthy, physical💪 heart-health actions.

But today, on Episode #87 of the Habit Thrive Podcast, we are going to focus on those often-overlooked emotional🥰 heart-health benefits.

Have you ever noticed🤔 how simply being with someone you love or doing something you enjoy leaves you with feelings of:

  • Joy
  • Satisfaction
  • Love
  • Peace

…and just plain happiness?😃

It may be a no-brainer🧠: Doing things you love with people you love makes you feel good.

But perhaps you have never connected the dots☝️ on those good feelings and a healthy heart.

According to Dr. Christiane Northrup, author of The Wisdom of Menopause:

“The part emotional stress plays in the heart disease equation cannot be overemphasized. Emotions such as depression, anxiety and fear, panic, and grief have been shown to cause constriction in blood vessels, thereby impeding the free flow of blood. And anything that causes constriction in your blood vessels makes your heart and your vessels work harder to do their job.”

How cool😎 is it that we can make our hearts healthier - therefore potentially extending the time and quality of our lives - simply by doing what we love?

So start right now with a practice of “being.”

  • BE in Nature🌳
  • BE with your breath😮‍💨
  • BE yourself😜
  • BE grateful🙏

Notice these moments as they arise in your day and start learning how to incorporate them more.

And then go on with your day feeling good and reaping the benefits!🤗
