Race and racism are based in history, and how humans thought about the physical differences. Early conceptions of these differences were focused on physical adaptations across geographies around the world. This thinking evolved over time: explanations for these differences changed as human history and science evolved. The associations between disease and race grew closer over time, however the extent to which this can be explained by science is limited.
