In this week’s episode of The Pain Changer®. This week, I had a really powerful and unique guest joining me, to talk about conflict de-escalation, and how you can do so peacefully.

John Riley spent 7 years in the Army before working for 20 years as a road patrol officer with the Grand Rapids Police, Grand Rapids, MI. He retired in 2015. He and his team at Gentle Response specialize in conducting very dynamic, realistic conflict de-escalation training seminars for churches, businesses, non-profits, government agencies, and law enforcement. He is an engaging and informative expert, and has become a sought-after speaker for conferences and training events.

John and I had an amazing conversation laced with humor all the way through! This is one of my favorite episodes, and it really hits on the pieces you need to know the most to help you navigate those tough conversations and situations in life!

In this episode, you will learn:

  • What an ACE is and how you can hone yours
  • Words and actions that will trigger further escalation
  • What to do if your attempts to remain calm are met with continued aggression
  • The power of the pause
  • What you are actually doing to yourself when you want to remain a victim.

If you loved this episode and you got a lot out of it, leave a review and share your biggest takeaway with me. And while you've got your phone out, make sure to follow me on Instagram @coachktdubs for more quick tips and tricks on how to change your nervous system.
