When it comes to addressing bad behavior from a partner, compassion should be at the core of any response. Your goal when looking at their behavior is to understand why they are behaving this way and not just get angry and resentful. GAHHH! Why are they so annoying?!! Let’s start by asking: What is the intention behind their behavior? How have I contributed to the current situation? What are my needs in this situation? Is non-violent communication possible here? And most importantly, How can I respond with compassion and clarity? When compassion and understanding come first, the result will always be healthier than getting stuck in anger and frustration.
Although those are GREAT questions, Trish will take you through 5 EASY questions to ask yourself before connecting with your partner! (You can always ask yourself too!)
