Ever wondered how life’s highs and lows can shape your career and personal journey? This episode kicks off with a heartfelt catch-up as we share the reasons behind our brief hiatus, from dealing with a family loss to traveling for solace and rejuvenation. We reminisce about the humorous yet frustrating experiences of our failed remote recordings and the excitement around my major career shift from Grand Canyon University to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. It’s a candid look at the rarity and significance of such faculty positions opening up and what this transition means for us professionally and personally.
We then dive into the lively and sometimes chaotic world of teaching and parenting. Hear the tales of our experiences teaching Lifespan and Multicultural Counseling, the various preparation styles, and the different student feedback we’ve encountered. On the personal front, we share the bittersweet moments of sending our little ones off to school for the first time. From dealing with morning routines and carlines to unique family traditions that cheer on our kids, this segment is filled with laughter, joy, and a touch of nostalgia.
Wrapping up, we reflect on the post-break jitters of preparing lectures, the humorous excuses students come up with, and the chaotic nature of juggling academic and parental responsibilities. Tune in for a balanced blend of lightheartedness and serious reflection!
