In this episode we speak with Dr. Helen Setyan about expanding our knowledge of physiotherapy. Dr. Setyan is a board-certified physical therapist, Yoga Alliance-certified yoga instructor, and a trained Mindfulness Facilitator, through UCLA Mindfulness Awareness Research (MARC) dedicated to the practice and integration of the mind-body systems approach to addressing pain, wellness, prevention and recovery of functional limitations for orthopedic, pelvic health, chronic pain and performance arts injuries. Helen obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Southern California (USC) Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism in 2006 and received her Physical Therapy Doctorate degree from Mount St. Mary’s College (MSMC) in 2010. Her specialities include pain and movement science, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and manual therapy. Helen Setyan extends her personal passions, clinical skills and expertise through multiple rehabilitation, wellness and meditation collectives, speaking engagements, and community outreach, including UCLA.
