Description:
Heart health is crucial, and today, we're diving into one of the most essential tests for understanding your heart's well-being: the NMR Test. Let's break down what you need to know:

  • Why Choose the NMR Test:
    • The test measures the quantity of bad LDL particles in your system.
    • Total LDL cholesterol alone doesn't predict cardiovascular risk accurately. The number of these LDL particles does.
  • Understanding the Test Results:
    • On the test, you'll spot a few arrows pointing to numbers:
      1. Red Arrow (Left side): Indicates how many bad LDL particles you have. For instance, my client's result showed 3500, which is extremely high. It's the maximum this test can even display.
      2. Red Circle (Right side): Reinforces the concerning level of LDL particles.
      3. Green Arrow: Represents the desired number. Ideally, you want 1,000 or fewer of these LDL particles. The lesser you have, the lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
      4. LDL Particle Number (Leftmost section): This tells us about the quantity of these LDL particles floating in your blood.
  • Why It Matters:
    • The smaller and more numerous these LDL particles are in your bloodstream, the higher your chances of developing cardiovascular diseases.
