Amy Lee grew up in a rough part of South London. Aged 11 she won a scholarship to a good Private School, which not only gave her a great education, it taught her how to live between two very different worlds.
In her mid-teens she got sick with meningitis, surving it she had to learn to walk again. The illness catalysed a move away from home and she ended up in an excellent 6th form college and ultimately Art School and eventually journalism. And then another career change after the birth of her son.
Amy is a woman who knows how to re-invent herself when the going get's tough. And it's been tough for her on more than one occassion. She has been on the receiving end of domestic violence, she's been kidnapped and had more trauma than most could handle. And she is an incredibly competent woman, has managed big teams and big budgets. Yet her passion is always to come back to Social Enterprises that make a difference.
Her Gaia Nook project is now officially under way and is going create Sacred Land for UK Women. Find out more about this and the incredible woman who is making it happen.
