“Men, in particular, require initiation. Women seem to in most cultures almost self initiate, although they certainly need some support and accountability to become a full psychologically functional woman, but for Men MANDATORY.” -Philip Folsom
The process of becoming a man, whether through ceremony or not, takes time. However, rites of passage are vital in defining when a boy should begin to perceive himself as a man when he should begin to act like a man, when the community should begin to accept him as a man, and when he should begin to shoulder the duties of a man. Many young men nowadays resent their childhood because they lack these key markers, never knowing when they've truly "Manned Up."
In today’s episode of The Wenner Folsom Battle Tested Resiliency Podcast, Joshua and Philip are going to deep dive into one of the most important aspects of humanity that we have lost in our current culture of not only veterans, men, first responders, and this big issue, which drives resiliency, incredibly important is the topic of INITIATION.
Tune in to this episode and learn what you can start to do to immediately start to become more aware of this, and that awareness gives you power!
