Here is what I find interesting:
As a society, we have a high awareness of dementia, especially Alzheimer's, because sooner or later most of us witness someone we love declining cognitively, and because the Alzheimer's Association does a fantastic job to educate us about this condition Alzheimer's gets all the attention.
At the same time, most of us are clueless about what exactly it is. I heard someone exclaim recently: "But my mom doesn't have dementia! She remembers mostly everything"
We use the terms Alzheimer's and dementia interchangeably, not realizing they are not the same.

If you feel your life got put on hold, I have a list of 10 essential things for caregivers to remember to get your life back. Download and print them to keep in front of you as a daily reminder.
If you like what you are hearing on this podcast and you are interested in learning more about thriving as a caregiver I would love to talk to you. I work with clients both in a group setting and 1 on 1. Schedule an appointment with me to get all the details about it. I am saving the spot for you.
