Life's journey often confronts us with unforeseen challenges, and for some, the painful weight of trauma threatens to shatter our very core. This is the inspiring story of those who have braved the storms of trauma and emerged stronger, wiser, and more resilient. Their journey from pain to healing is a testament to the human spirit's remarkable capacity to endure and rise above adversity.
Today's guest for 3-21 No Kiddin' Podcast is Lena Cebula. She was born and raised in a post-USSR Ukrainian iron mining town. Her parents struggled in their marriage.
Lena became an alcoholic, lost well-paying jobs, and eventually divorced losing custody of their kids. She has struggled in poverty trying to survive and was abused and raped numerous times. After the loss of her first child at 15, drug addicted, and alcohol dependent, she was twice trafficked to foreign countries, Israel, and Canada.
Some of the topics we discussed during our chat are:
  • Overcoming adversity and the story of survival
  • Having a family under communism
  • The impact of communism
  • Her trauma experience: human trafficking, sexual abuse, and addictions
  • Surviving trafficking and then having the freedom
  • Overcoming fear and taking action
  • and many more!

The journey of surviving trauma is as unique as each survivor's story. It illustrates the resilience, strength, and determination that reside within us all. It is a reminder that healing is possible, and life can blossom once again, even after surviving the darkest of times.
