Hosts and PTSI Resilience Trainers John Salerno and Samantha Horwitz talk with Eric Reynolds, retired law enforcement officer and founder of Cops and Campers on @A Badge of Honor Podcast.
Cops and Campers is a wellness retreat initiative founded by retired police officer Eric Reynolds, who suffered from PTSD after being shot in the line of duty in 2012. The organization aims to provide a safe haven for first responders to share their stories, overcome the stigma of PTSD, and improve their overall health and well-being.
Cops and Campers’ mission is to empower first responders with the tools, resources, and community support needed to overcome the challenges of their demanding roles and build resilience.
The organization hosts an annual event at Spruce Row Campground & RV Park, which was founded after Eric's unsettling encounter at another campground in 2021, where he was asked to take down a Thin Blue Line flag flying on his campsite.
Cops and Campers also offers a free summer camp for elementary and middle school students, in partnership with the Sachse Police Department. The camp provides age-appropriate lessons, activities, and games, as well as a field trip each week. Limited spots are available, and registration includes a first-choice and alternate selection. For more visit https://copsandcampers.com/ and follow Eric on Instagram @KetoFiveO
