Omisade-Burney Scott is the coolest. She is the creator/curator of The Black Girls’ Guide to Surviving Menopause, a multimedia project engaged in culture and narrative shift work which includes, among other things, a podcast, a zine titled Messages From The Menopausal Multiverse, and the Say More Card Deck, which is a collection of conversation and journaling prompts that empower you to deepen your relationships with people in, preparing for, or supporting loved ones through menopause and aging — as well as your relationship with yourself. And that's not even all of it. We were a little intimidated by her accomplishments, confidence, and impeccable style, but after talking to her, we felt like we had been friends for years. Omi gives advice on happily controlling your doctor's appointments regardless of your personality type, nerds out with Julia about Quantum Physics, and confesses that when your hair turns grey, it turns grey EVERYWHERE. We also celebrate Menopause Awareness Month, and give you a list of some of our favorite people and resources for navigating this glorious moment. Don't miss this one!
