We’ve got a lot going on this episode so buckle your seat belt and tune in because Andy Behbakht (from The Flash Podcast) joins us as a guest host! This episode is all about directors! Announcements, rumors, negotiations, we’re covering it all! BUT FIRST, what kind of DC Film podcast would this be if we didn’t talk about The Lego Batman Movie (again) ?! Basically Sark and Jess just need an excuse to talk about how awesome it was. Seriously, go see it if you haven’t. Back to the director news, David F. Sandberg (Annabelle 2, Lights Out) is in talk to direct the Shazam film. He is primarily known for his work on horror movies, so what could this mean for Shazam and the storyline of the film? And what about the Black Adam movie? Isn’t that one supposed to be released prior to Shazam? Very sneaky, Warner Bros.

Even sneakier, is WB’s considerations for Suicide Squad 2 director. Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad), Daniel Espinosa (Safe House), Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies, 50/50) are among the directors on the radar, but the most surprising possibility is Mel Gibson. Yes, we know, this is very strange. Not to mention the negativity swirling around him and his past. The hosts give us their thoughts on each of the directors mentioned. Do you think Mel Gibson has a serious shot at directing Suicide Squad 2? Let us know! Lastly, we discuss the latest addition to the Batman solo movie drama. A week after it was announced that Matt Reeves would be directing the film, now we’re hearing that negotiations have ended. However, Ridley Scott (The Martian, Alien) and Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead remake) are now also being considered by Warner Bros. as possible considerations. So the million dollar question(s) is, which of these directors do we think is the best choice for being at the helm of a solo Batman movie? And of course, how will this impact the film and its production? Listen in and let us know your thoughts!

[DISCLAIMER: this episode was recorded before the big news of Matt Reeves officially locked in to direct The Batman]
