2020 is such a momentous year where we are experiencing a global pandemic and we are all demanding for change and justice concerning racial injustice, police brutality, LGBTQIA+ and other issues. This clamor for change includes needing more black women in the beauty space. Founder & CEO of BEAUTYBEEZ, Brittney Ogike's attentiveness on how the beauty industry is managed by men and is white-dominated brought about her brick-and-mortar a year ago. BEAUTYBEEZ is a one-stop-shop sanctuary for people of color and those with textured hair, where they can find high-quality and effective skincare, haircare, makeup, wigs and extensions as well as customized services such as braiding.
Brittney shares about her career in sports management, how business and brands can encourage and celebrate inclusivity in the workplace. In this episode, she shares her business tips and advice on how to get that dream off the ground by giving yourself grace, making sure to get it done, and working at that dream everyday (even if it's just for 5 minutes) to create results.
