"Self-care is part of the strategy of successful community engagement, " says Angela Dorn, Interim Executive Director of Public Allies-NY, a national not for profit in episode 40 of Meet Ellen. "Self-care and self-reflection come in different forms be it exercise, making the right food choices or making the right choices regarding people you want to spend time around."

Public Allies has helped thousands of underrepresented young leaders serve our country, get on successful pathways to higher education and careers, and bring communities together to work for the common good. Public Allies serves in 24 communities nationwide.

Prior to serving at Public Allies, Angela was the Chief Legal Officer and Founding Member of Single Stop USA, where she oversaw organizational governance, internal and external relationships, and had oversight over all legal issues.

Angela is a graduate of Harvard-Radcliffe Colleges where she received a degree in Economics, and Harvard Law School.

Today's text is from chapter nine "Teaching and Healing" p. 112 in the Harvestime Books' edition of The Ministry of Healing, the focus of the Meet Ellen podcast.
