Exercise:
Start by thinking about anything you think you have no control over. This can be as subtle or intense as an incessant recurring thought, or a chronic reaction or impulse. These sort of thoughts seem to happen to us. Also look for any compulsive behaviors seeking more or less of something or someone else, somewhere else. Watch your experience. Begin to allow you will never have any control whatsoever over these disturbing conditions. Conceding this can seem ridiculous, unnatural, unnecessary and impossible to live with. As your commitment to this permanence grows watch how hopelessness and helplessness seems to grow. Deliberately adjusting mental flexibility shows how easily experience can be changed. We are never stuck but to thinking we’re stuck which is only a thought.
Feeling wrong is the immediate consequence of wrong thoughts we think are right. Self-centered fear reflects a thought centered in a chosen thought. Trying to feel better or get over any induced turmoil is a distraction from the problem and how reactive, impulsive and ultimately compulsive behaviors are triggered and maintained.
Facing what is happening honestly eliminates rather than obsessively manipulates conflicted thoughts. Thoughts aRE unmade as easily as they are made. Lies grow as long as they are maintained. Perpetuating wrong as right is how we insist obsessive thoughts persist. Missing this point had the inner conflict and turmoil seem to be caused by something other than what we’re thinking. Struggling to straighten thoughts while twisting them is possible so the effect feels impossible. We need not think we are lying to cause these disturbing consequences. To think any wrong is right is a lie. Feeling guilty and ashamed are accurate assessments of choice. Feeling incensed by anyone thinking we are liars is especially offensive when they’re right.
We are right to consider obsessive thoughts out of control. Illusions thought of as reality are delusions. Controlling what does not exist is insane. They are not necessary but we are absolutely free to maintain and entertain insane thoughts as long as we like.
A thought is a thought like a rose is a rose. The content of our thoughts do not have a life of their own even when we think they do, think we are only what we think, or think it is all we can think and so act out wrong. Choice allows all options including not choosing - always in all ways. It is a principle.
The greatest impact on our experience is how we choose to think. Negotiating with insanity is insane and will never make sense. Voices in our head are narratives created to entertaining thoughts thinking only of themselves.
Our discussion is not about stopping these thoughts but noticing how and that we start them. That we do what we do is not in question so cannot b

Reality is unlimited. Nothing can be added or subtracted to or from It. The idea we create it suggests otherwise. Acting on such thoughts is behaving out of order. Anxious and systemic disorders reflect this attempt to reverse the natural order. Disease is the lack of ease created and maintained by such activities.
Sharing principles affirms and confirms our indivisibility. We can choose desperation while our collective unchanging essence is inspiration.
